Personal data
Marc Josia is the controller of the personal data processing carried out through the Capsule website.
The data collected is used to respond to requests submitted through the contact form, to manage applications to the beta programme, to follow up on the beta and to measure the website’s audience where the person has consented to it.
Data requested in the forms that is required to process a request is marked as such. Failure to provide it may prevent the request from being processed.
The processing is based on:
- the person’s consent, for their application to the beta programme and for audience measurement tools that require consent;
- the publisher’s legitimate interest, for responding to contact requests and following up on exchanges.
The recipients of the data are the publisher and the providers required to operate the website and the service:
- Tally BV, for hosting the contact and application forms, with responses stored in the European Union;
- Hostinger International Ltd., for hosting the website and the Umami instance;
- OVH SAS, for hosting the Capsule service’s archives in France;
- PostHog, Inc., for audience measurement after consent. The project uses the PostHog Cloud EU offering, whose data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany.
The applicable retention periods are as follows:
- audience measurement data: thirteen months at most;
- choices regarding trackers: one hundred and eighty days;
- contact and application data: three years from the last active contact.
Everyone has the right to access, rectify and erase their data, to object to and restrict its processing, and to data portability, under the conditions laid down by the applicable regulations. These rights can be exercised through the contact form. A person may also withdraw their consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
In case of difficulty, a complaint may be lodged with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL), the French data protection authority.
The data subject may set guidelines regarding what happens to their data after their death and request that it be passed on to a designated person, under the conditions laid down by the applicable regulations.
